What you can customise
The shell
Clear, coloured, solid, smoked black or mirror finish: the shell sets the tone. Available colours depend on the model and on parts in stock; we confirm your options before we start building.
Buttons and membranes
Buttons and membranes are chosen separately: red and clear, gold and pink, yellow and pink… Several combinations are available directly as variants on the GBA SP product pages.
The holographic insert
On the GBA SP, the front of the lid holds an illustrated insert, often with a holographic finish: it gives the Mew, Gengar, Hero of Time and Legendary Birds editions their identity. On most editions the insert can be swapped for another design at no extra cost. For a specific artwork, send us your idea before ordering.
RGB LEDs
Multicolour lighting around the buttons, with adjustable colour and brightness, pulse or press-reactive effects, and an off switch. +€50 option on the GBA SP, included on the GBA Crystal Clear RGB.
Screen and battery
IPS screen with 15 brightness levels and a scanline filter. GBA SP: 1040 mAh rechargeable battery included. Game Boy Color and GBA: optional USB-C rechargeable battery, so you no longer need AA batteries.

- Select the available variants (buttons, LEDs, battery) and describe the rest in the order note: shell, insert, any special detail. For a very specific project, contact us before ordering. We reply in English.
- Confirmation: we confirm what can be built with the parts available and suggest an alternative if needed.

Custom Game Boy FAQ
How much does a custom Game Boy cost?
From €200 (Game Boy DMG IPS) to around €325 (GBA SP with holographic insert and RGB LEDs). The exact price is shown on each product page depending on the variants you choose.
Does a custom configuration cost more?
The base price is the one on the product page. Only some options (RGB LEDs, USB-C battery, specific insert) add an extra cost, shown on the page or confirmed before we build.
Is it still a real Game Boy?
Yes: the motherboard and cartridge slot are original Nintendo parts. Only the screen, battery and cosmetic parts are replaced.
Do you ship outside France?
Yes, we ship worldwide with tracking. Prices are in euros; your bank converts them automatically at checkout. Import duties or taxes may apply outside the EU and are paid by the recipient.
Can you mod my own Game Boy?
Yes: IPS screen, battery, shell, LEDs… Our modding service page is in French, but you can simply contact us in English for a free quote.
Can I give a custom Game Boy for Christmas?
Yes: order before November 15 to allow for the 4 to 5 weeks of build time, plus a few extra days of shipping outside France.
Are games included?
No, the cartridges in the photos are for illustration only and are sold separately.
